Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

This guide provides information and instruction to Ontario Tech faculty, students, and staff regarding interlibrary loan and the use of the OMNI Blank Request Form.

What is Interlirbary Loan (ILL)?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the process of requesting materials from other libraries. If the resource that you require is not available within the Ontario Tech Library or our OMNI partner libraries, in either print or electronic format, an interlibrary loan (ILL) can be processed on your behalf.

Search Using OMNI

OMNI is an easy-to-use search tool that allows you to discover  physical  items from university libraries across Ontario.  Physical materials can be requested and delivered to Ontario Tech for pickup.  Articles and book chapters can be requested and delivered by email.

To request from another library:

  • Sign in to My Library Account in the top navigation bar on the far right.
  • Find the item you are interested in and select the title to open the full record display.
  • Select 'Get it from another library' in the How to Get It section of the record.
