Leisure Reading

Find Something to Read

Look at our Resource Guide to have a more extensive list of Leisure Reading books collection that's categorized by intended audience; adult, young adult, and juvenile fiction books.

The Library has a Leisure Reading Collection with books that can be borrowed by students, faculty, and staff. Leisure Reading Collections can be found at the North Oshawa Library as well as the Social Science, Humanities, and Education Library.

Looking for more? Get a public library card from the Oshawa Public Library or Whitby Public Library and explore their larger leisure reading collections. Those who work and study in the Durham Region are eligible for a public library card.

Looking for a Place to Read?

Relax in the Dixon-Alger Fireside Reading Room on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the North Oshawa campus library. Enjoy the view of the two-storey glass wall that overlooks the Polonsky Commons and the reflecting pond with an electric fireplace in the middle of the room.

Fireside reading room

Browse and borrow books that are a part of the Library's Leisure Reading collection, located in the Fireside Reading Room.

Feel free to take and keep a book from the smaller pocket library, made in partnership with the Oshawa Public Library.
