Submit a 3D printing request

How to 3D Print at the Library

1. Create your own design, or choose from designs shared by others. 

2. Fill in the request form and upload your .stl file. 

3. We will send you a quote for the cost ($0.08 per gram of filament) and a estimate of when the print will be completed. 

* NOTE: As of September 2024 we have changed from charging by the hour, to charging by amount of filament (material) used. This is necessary as our different models of 3D printer print at very different speeds.

4. Approve the quoted cost.

5. Pick up your completed object. 

• We will email you when the print is complete. 
• If you are located at the Downtown Campus, we will send your print to the Social Science, Humanities and Education Library for pickup.

• Get information about the service and 3D printing in general; ask basic questions about 3D designs and print settings
• Book an appointment with a staff member for a 3D printing consultation

Cost: $0.08 per gram of filament used (We will provide a quote once a file has been submitted).

North Oshawa Library

• Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
