Age-Friendly University and the Library

Ontario Tech is one of a handful of Canadian universities to receive the Age-Friendly University (AFU) designation from the AFU Global Network.

Campus Library has two locations; one in North Oshawa, and the other at 61 Charles St. in downtown Oshawa.

The North Oshawa Library has approximately 700 study spaces available in a mixture of soft seating, open tables, and study carrels.  The Library has 5 floors, split into areas that allow for different study styles.

• Our beautiful Dixon-Alger Fireside Reading Room features exposed brick, an electric fireplace, and a two-storey glass wall overlooking Polonsky Commons and the reflecting pond. 
• There are approximately 12 desktop computers on the first floor.  Staff can help you gain access to approved databases.

The Social Science, Humanities, and Education Library is located on the main floor in the former Alger Press Building at 61 Charles St. There is a mixture of soft seating, open study space, and study carrels.

• Group study tables, study carrels, soft seating and 6 computer workstations.
• Gorgeous Sleightholm Education Room features a wall of windows, filling the space with natural light.
