The Library acquires the licences to thousands of resources every year to be used by faculty and students alike. Information on the reuse permissions obtained for these materials are found throughout our collection. These are referred to as a "Licence Summary".

General Licence Information

  • Learn about the generally permitted uses of Campus Libraries electronic materials on our license information website
  • For physical work, refer to our Fair Dealing section of this guide

Finding Licence Information in Omni

  • The licence summary can be found in the record for the individual electronic item
  • Scroll down and refer to the Licence Summary included in "View Online"

Finding Licence Information for Databases

  • The Licence Summary is provided directly below the database name listed in the Campus Libraries A-Z Database

Best Practice

  • When there are multiple licence summaries, follow the most conservative licence
  • Reuse of physical books is subject to fair dealing
    • One (1) Chapter of a book
    • Or 10% of the overall book
